The AADE Board of Directors recently approved a naming policy for our component groups which includes LNGs and CBs. The goal was to streamline LNG and CB names so that members can clearly identify each of the groups and easily find a group near them. It also unifies all the groups in MY AADE NETWORK and strengthens the AADE and diabetes educator brand across the country.

All groups are being asked to adopt the appropriate name by June 30, 2011:

• All AADE Coordinating Bodies shall bear the name of the State followed by the words “Coordinating Body of the American Association of Diabetes Educators.”
  • e.g. Maryland Coordinating Body of the American Association of Diabetes Educators or MD Coordinating Body of AADE
• All Local Networking Groups shall be bear the name of their local area followed the words “Local Networking Group of the American Association of Diabetes Educators. The word chapter is to be retired.
  • e.g. Northeastern Ohio Local Networking Group of the American Association of Diabetes Educators or [insert] LNG of AADE
